Groups

Small groups of up to five students

Each group consists of a one-hour lesson every week, plus homework.

Flexible by design

If a student has a specific topic they're struggling with, or questions from outside the tuition, this can easily be integrated into the lessons in a way that benefits the whole group.

Join more than one group

Students who join in year 10, or who are sitting GCSE Maths a year early, often attend both the Year 10/11 and Practice Paper groups. Students completing the GCSE early (e.g. home-schoolers) can attend all three.

GCSE & IGCSE

GCSE Groups

1 hour a week

Year 9/10 Group

In this group, we cover the fundamental topics for Higher GCSE and IGCSE Maths.

The topics we cover are approximately equivalent to what is covered in school in year 10, but it is advisable for students to join the group from year 9, so that they can get the content down early and focus on solidifying their understanding and exam practice afterwards.

1 hour a week

Year 10/11 Group

In this group, we complete the GCSE and IGCSE Maths syllabus by covering the most difficult grade 8/9 topics.

This group naturally leads on from the year 9/10 group. The syllabus is completed half-way through the year, and the second half of the year is spent addressing any knowledge gaps the students have, and doing targeted revision for the GCSE exam when it approaches.

1 hour a week

Practice Paper Group

In this group, students complete a paper every one or two weeks, and I tailor the lesson to their mistakes.

This group is designed to be attended by students the year before they sit their exam. By doing ample practice, students will become well-acquainted with exam technique, especially for the difficult problem-solving questions. In addition, succinct and comprehensive reviews will be done of topics the students find difficult.
